Black Cumin Seed Oil for Inflammation / Excessive Immune Response

Black Cumin Seed Oil

Sometimes you have to hit me over the head with a brick.  At least twice, before you get my attention.

The first time I heard about Black Cumin Seed Oil it was recommended as a natural treatment for my 4 year old with possible hypothyroidism.  I stored the information away in my “later” file.  We were battling PANDAS disease, so the thyroid got the back burner.  Sorry, sweet, neglected, non-PANDA child.

The second time was another mom, who used it for her own allergies and anxiety, and for her ASD / Lyme infant son.  In a few weeks his stomach is now completely flat, and her issues are under control.  Now I’m listening.

Inflammation.  It’s the bugger bear behind so many of the diseases and issues plaguing us in our modern world today!  Black Cumin Seed Oil (Nigella Sativa) may be the newest star in the fight against it.  It’s in my Amazon cart now!!  It’s much cheaper than the fermented cod liver oil we had been using for inflammation, so we’ll be using it in conjunction with our Donkey Milk. If this works like the reviews and studies say….hip hip hooray!

“Black cumin seed oil joins a small handful of nutraceuticals now known to modulate the immune system in both directions. In addition to suppressing dangerous chronic inflammation, black cumin seed oil has been shown to boost appropriate immune function. The result is enhanced protection against both infections and cancer.10

In other words, black cumin seed oil offers true immune system balancing, promoting healthy immune function when it’s needed, while suppressing excessive immune activity (inflammation), when it’s deleterious.” From

(This could be very helpful for PANDAS or other autoimmune diseases!)

The PANDAS mom that recommended this said her son takes 5 ml, 2 x a day with his camel milk and she takes 5 ml every morning with her coconut milk, and has been helpful.  I will add update this post with our experience once we’ve tried it out.  Until then, comment below if you’ve tried it!

Please join the Facebook Group “Healing with Donkey Milk” for more information and sources. This blog is written by an anonymous mom. PANDAS disease is ugly. It’s practically unheard of, but it’s not rare. 1 in 200 kids has it. That’s right up there with childhood diabetes…but my pediatrician had never heard of it. This leads me to the question, how many kids out there are misdiagnosed, drugged for “behavioral issues”, OCD, schizophrenia, ADD, Autism, ADHD, Anorexic, or taken from their “bad” parents by well meaning doctors, teachers, and lawyers who don’t know about PANDAS. How many parents are searching for answers every night, in silent agony over losing their child, and have no one to talk to, no one who understands. This blog is for those parents. Those doctors. Those teachers. But mostly, it’s for those children. The ones with the fear in their eyes and the haunted look. The chapped and bloodied hands from washing incessantly. The lost childhood. Lord, multiply this, share it with those who need it most. I don’t have time, or resources, or knowledge to get it into their hands. If it will bless them, let this reach them. In Jesus Name I pray for each hurting child. Amen. Disclaimer: This blog exists for informational purposes only. Posts should NOT be regarded as medical advice. Thank you for reading the blog, please share it with those in need of hope!
